Appearance

Formerly a scrawny, pointy jointed boy, he's grown into his frame somewhat over the last break from school. He ate as much as he usually did, but somehow the caloris clung to him, filling up the spots that used to be bare. It's not to say that he's got a physique now, a nice one, at least, but he can remain upright in a strong wind nowadays. Dmitri's dark hair is in need of a cutting, hanging in shaggy clumps to the base of his neck. He has a long face, large, black eyes, a hooked nose and floppy lips. There's usually either a cocky smirk on those lips or a bewildered frown, it's a toss up.

Visible Markings: Triangle of freckles on his right wrist, burn mark on his left forearm, long, horizontal scar on his left temple, 1-inch gauges in each ear and a piercing at the top of his right ear.

Not readily visible Markings: A few long, diagonal scars across his ribs on his right side, a burn mark under the wristband he always wears on his left arm, a birthmark on the left side of his neck, just below his ear.

Background

Growing up in Brooklyn with a crazy protective mother, Dmitri learned at a young age that family = a nuisance. As independent as he was, the boy felt stifled by his mother, sister and grandmother's constant presence. Since his father left when he was only 5, Dmitri remembers little about him. His mother told Dmitri that the scars along his ribs came from one of his father's drunken rages, but as his mother tends to lie quite a bit, he's not sure how true the allegation is. Without a father figure or any male family around, Dmitri spent as much time as he could around the playground with other boys, though generally the only contact he had with his classmates was their fists to his face. After years of being picked on and a fortunate growth spurt, Dmitri toughened up and went from bullied to bully. This position only lasted until the other kids grew as well, at which point he went back to regularly having the crap kicked out of him. His mother insisted that the boy go to a private boarding school somewhere in order to escape the fights he was always finding himself in. The idea of going to private school wasn't very appealing to the boy until he started to focus on the "boarding" bit. Dmitri didn't study much for the exams, but his natural intelligence carried him far enough and after passing the entrance exam to Second Heaven, he was awarded enough of a scholarship to attend. Being a charity case is hardly something Dmitri enjoys, but anything that gets him away from his family is tolerable.

At the age of 13, while being dragged on one of his mother's house tours, Dmitri met his soon to be best friend, Ashlee Buck. After running into each other on a handful of occasions, the two became inseparable. Subway trips to cruise malls, throw rocks at parked cars or steal cigarettes and beer from local convenience stores became tradition. Though they never attended the same school, Dmitri and Lee managed to stay close by talking on IM (chatting on the phone is for fags). The two were in school together for a year before Lee dropped out and took his money with him. Dmitri is now struggling to hold on to his scholarship in the hopes that he'll never have to sleep under his mother's roof again.

Personality:

He is insensitive, brash, unapologetic, eager to get into anything female's pants, and almost entirely without a conscience. He sees little wrong with lying, cheating or stealing (as long as he isn't caught) and likes to spend as much of his time as he can getting high with his best friend, Lee. But Dmitri is not entirely without good qualities. His intelligence is usually overshadowed by his apathy, but if he put his mind to it, he could easily pass all his classes. Not all of the jokes he tells are horrible (though most are) and in a crisis, Dmitri can always keep a cool head.
